Chris, with some wall art that speaks to his personality almost as much as his smile, proudly holding a Christmas cactus he brought back to life to flourish another season.

Cancer Sun · Virgo Rising · Taurus Moon

Chris is the quiet architect of comfort at The Gables.

Part gardener, part designer, part conversationalist, he has an uncanny instinct for how spaces should feel. A wall that needs art, a garden that needs balance, a table that needs flowers, or a room that needs just one more lamp — Chris will notice it before anyone else. His Taurus moon has gifted him with a deep love of beauty and texture, and over the years he has considered careers in architecture, drafting, and floral design. All of them would have made perfect sense.

He also loves music, singing, cinema, pop culture, games, and the occasional spontaneous karaoke moment in the house. (The karaoke equipment technically belongs to no one, but Chris is suspiciously enthusiastic about it.)

As a Cancer sun, Chris is the keeper of cozy. He deep cleans, organizes, structures, improves, and generally makes sure life flows smoothly for everyone around him. Virgo rising adds the remarkable eye for detail. Very little escapes his notice. If a painting moves half an inch, Chris will know.

He hikes, camps, photographs landscapes, reads widely, golfs enthusiastically, and recently retired from alcohol and cigarettes in favour of a life that feels stronger and clearer. He speaks 2.5 languages, has lived in several countries, and grew up with a father who collected beautiful old books, which explains the impressive vintage library quietly forming at The Gables.

For many years Chris ran a successful landscaping company inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian garden design. But more recently he began to notice that the work he felt most called toward was something different.

Walking alongside men.

Listening, asking questions, sharing experience, and helping men navigate the complicated emotional terrain of modern life. It turns out that the same instinct that helps him design a garden, noticing patterns, tending carefully, giving things space to grow, works surprisingly well with people too.

Here at The Gables, Chris has the perfect opportunity to create a welcoming space where men can gather, talk honestly, and navigate the challenges of modern life together. It’s work that suits him well. After all, Chris has a long track record of tending things carefully: gardens, spaces, friendships, and even the occasional struggling houseplant (he can bring nearly any ailing plant back to life).

So like many things at The Gables, the idea is simple: A few chairs. A room. Some honest conversation. And Chris, quietly doing what he does best: helping things grow.
